  • WiFi - Misconfiguration

This is more of a general issue as misconfiguration happens almost everywhere and that is a problem with wireless aswell. Not even the best security features will mitigate an attack if they are misconfigured or not configured at all.WiFi is popular and conveniently easy to use not only for the end users but also for an attacker that may not have the ability to physically connect to the target network. This issue can escalate if users decide to plug in an AP with no security configuration to the corporate network to avoid the hassle of using wires if they need to move around. Even worse, the end user may forget to unplug the AP when he no longer needs it hence leaving the corporate network open to attack for extended periods of time.
