Pod slurping is a term that was invented to describe the act of using a portable storage device such as an iPod or similar to steal large amounts of data. In general many small devices that were not meant to carry such information can be considered a threat because these devices seems harmless. A disgruntled employee carrying out an external hard drive may seem far more suspicious than the same employee carrying an iPod, a GPS or a digital camera, even though the actual risk is the same.
